TenYurt – A Simple DIY Prefab Shelter

For a long time now I have been interested in almost everything related to residential design and construction. If you looked at the bookmarks in my Internet browser you would find that category to have the most pointers by far. While most of my career has been in the semiconductor industry I have spent a fair amount of my spare time and occasionally my full time designing or building things.

More recently I have become increasingly interested in looking for ways to help ease homelessness both in this country as well as potentially in other countries.

The Labrador Retriever, a Dog for All Seasons.

The Labrador retriever (or Lab for short) is a retriever, a type of Gun dog. It is the most popular breed of Dog in the UK and USA.

Its characteristics are a gentle loving nature, intelligence, great strength, athletic ability & loyalty. It is child safe & much used as a guide dog, due to its temperament. It is also used by the Police for detection of contraband, due to its excellent sense of smell, and has also been used by the military, who use it for tracking work & for detection of explosives, arms and munitions.

Labradors excel in water, and are powerful swimmers, due to their strength & webbed feet. Read more…

Time to tell the government what you think about tablesaw safety

As we’ve written about on FineWoodworking.com, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is poised to issue a ruling on whether “flesh-sensing technology,” like the SawStop device, should be mandated on all tablesaws. The CPSC has invited the public to comment on the issue, but the deadline is closing fast. If you want to send your comments or opinions, you have to follow some strict guidelines, as laid out by the CPSC. Here
