Currey & Company: Drumroll for High Point
A huge, resounding thank you to our friends at Currey & Company for sharing the latest and greatest finds from High Point. Just look at all of these beautiful options in home lighting! We are smitten, to say the least.

High Point, a small town in the foothills of North Carolina, is the scene each April and October for the International Home Furnishings Market. It is the largest home furnishings trade show in the world. Manufacturers use this opportunity to introduce new product designs and to show them off in an appealing way. For anyone involved with home furnishings, this market is not to be missed. Interior designers, merchants, architects, contractors all attend. It is incredibly exciting to be the first to see everything “in person.”
Even though High Point is a great place to see new products, it is the people who really make it interesting and enjoyable. Where else could you have an in-depth conversation with Margaret Russell, Jamie Drake or Nicky Haslam? It is inspiring to gain insights into new trends, meet the design world glitterati and to see products that will appear in retail showrooms in the upcoming year.

Maharani Chandelier
Pink perfection, the Maharani chandelier was a BIG hit at the High Point market. Over-the-top in size and color, the Maharani will add glamour to any room.

Silverdale Chandelier
If you can’t squeeze in a jaunt to the Alps, let the Silverdale chandelier transport you to a winter wonderland. Real silver leaf is hand-applied to each arm and pine needle. Crystal drops hang from the candle cups to add extra sparkle along with pine cones made of mercury glass. It’s magical!

Elwynn Bench
So faux! No, so fantastic! Traveling down the wooded lane, you come upon an enchanted forest with elfish creatures seated on the Elwynn Bench. At least that seems the perfect setting for such a phenomenal bench. Made in the traditional faux bois technique of applying concrete to a steel rebar and wire mesh frame, the Elwynn Bench stands at 5 ½ feet tall and more than 7 feet long. You can fit a lot of gnomes on this bench!

Fitsjames Lantern

Bardwell Lantern
Reconsider your concept of simplicity! The Fitzjames and Bardwell Lanterns were best sellers for Currey & Company at the recent High Point market. The lanterns are the perfect example of simple silhouette designs executed with the purity of an honest material, wrought iron. The metal is light hammered to give the appearance of an antique. The hand-applied Mayfair finish adds depth and calls attention to the importance of craftsmanship and the simple material used.

Beauregard Chandelier

Beesthorpe Lantern
Lighting is perhaps the most powerful element in a room! A chandelier can unite air and space. Look at the unusual Beesthorpe Lantern; its shape is reminiscent of a bee hive. The hand-applied Pyrite Bronze finish is balanced with horizontal bands of natural wood. Metal roping is used to lash the intersections of metal and wood for an authentic look. The Beauregard Chandelier has the same finish and details but with a more traditional chandelier shape.
Lynton Table Lamp
Simplicity rules the Lynton Table Lamp in gray. Gray was recently declared by many design experts as the new neutral. A simple off-white linen shade, a classic shape and a brass finial is all that is needed to give this lamp an updated look.
Timeless Table Lamp
Pristine white, the Timeless Table Lamp is just that: timeless. The clear acrylic lamp footing and white parchment shade are the perfect contemporary embellishments. Re-imagine this classic form in a modern context.

Even with the extensive requirements the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) has placed on lighting in public places, Currey & Company has found a way to comply with ADA and make wall sconces that spotlight what we do best: creating clean, simple designs with intricate finishes applied by hand. Our ADA wall sconces received a huge response during the recent High Point market.
The next High Point market will take place October 22 – 27, 2011
